Can We Fix This?
Deep in our hearts a longing exists for things to be better. Looking around our world, we just wonder … “shouldn’t things be better than this?” Jesus said they should, they could, and invites us into His plan to bring wholeness not only to ourselves but to every place and every person in His Name. However, the Bible says, “each one should be careful how he builds” (1 Cor 3:10b). Let’s look at how Jesus teaches us how to fix things and how they compare to the methods of the world. Following His methods, values and plans - we can fix this, yes we can!

Love vs Judgment. Floods don’t work, there must be a better way. But isn’t it our natural inclination to come down hard on flaws, even our own. Jesus had a better way.

Church vs Myspace. At it’s best Church is the most powerful healing body in the world. At its worst … well let’s not go there. But the church must be the church and not the fake world of online “friendships” that mean little and do less.

Mountains vs Molehills. Focus, Jesus taught, or you end up neglecting the most important things. However, we end up getting caught up in pet peeves, and todays news. Jesus knew how to stay focused on the important, the fight for justice, mercy and faithfulness.

Quick Fix vs Hard Yards. We keep asking ourselves, “shouldn’t this be easier?” Sometimes preachers even re-enforce the idea that victory is only a prayer away. But did Jesus teach that? Did He live that? Maybe helping people is a much bigger commitment than we think.

Spirit vs Flesh. Our natural tendency is to respond first with our own strength and then, when it fails, throw up a prayer to God for His help. But scripture teaches us to work from the Spirits' power in the world of flesh, and to remain connected to the flow of the Spirits' life to everyone in need.
