Floods don’t work, there must be a better way. But isn’t it our natural inclination to come down hard on flaws, even our own. Jesus had a better way.

Quick Fix vs Hard Yards.
We keep asking ourselves, “shouldn’t this be easier?” Sometimes preachers even re-enforce the idea that victory is only a prayer away. But did Jesus teach that? Did He live that? Maybe helping people is a much bigger commitment than we think.

Spirit vs Flesh.
Our natural tendency is to respond first with our own strength and then, when it fails, throw up a prayer to God for His help. But scripture teaches us to work from the Spirits' power in the world of flesh, and to remain connected to the flow of the Spirits' life to everyone in need.
